Build vs. Buy for Compliance Agents: What Breaks at Agent Two

10:00am PT

Every risk team is getting the same question right now: build this yourselves, or buy it? Most people answer it as a coin flip. It isn't one. The real fork isn't build-versus-buy — it's build, buy a standalone agent, or buy a shared platform, and each is the right call for a different institution.

The question that actually forces the choice isn't the first agent. It's the second one. One team can build one useful agent — plenty have. The harder question is what the next one inherits, and what it has to rebuild from scratch.

This session walks through five decisions that determine which path fits your institution: whether the next agent starts from zero or from what the last one learned, whether a finding can move across workflows without a person carrying it, whether you can reconstruct a decision an examiner asks about eighteen months from now, who can change the policy when the rules change, and what you're actually agreeing to own once it's live.

You'll leave with a way to score your own institution against those five decisions, and a straight read on when each path — build, standalone agent, or shared platform — is the right one. We'll cover a case where building in-house was correct, and one where it wasn't.
